The 1.38 Billion problems of Indian vaccination & why we should be proud

Erudu dose ayitto ( 2nd dose done in Kannada – language of Karnataka state)

Some. lighter stuff about real things .

There has been been a massive outcry and negative media assault on Indian Government and its healthcare system- ( doctors , bureaucrats, central ministers , vaccine manufacturers etc ) . There has been massive shortage of vaccine and individual states are fighting with Federal government and vaccine manufacturers to meet the demand yesterday . As if vaccine manufacturing is like scaling of no or EX2 instances in AWS. Nevertheless my experience of second vaccine here

Luckily both me and my wife could manage 2nd covishield vaccine today after desperate attempts to book through CoWIN app whole last week. Here r the details. –

Started from home at 6 am and drove 60 kms ( 40miles) outside of Bangalore to a remote village PHC ( Public Health center – Small functional health Center run by state government with only Outpatient consultation and basic services like injection and blood sample collection kid of facility) close to and waited from 7.30 till 10 am and got the vaccine. Good part is the 2 way drive on almost empty highway.

With my 30% Kannada speaking ability + half worn track suit + dirty T shirt + before shower look – I could pass off as a villager from the nearby village.

And the nurse was super helpful and courteous.

CoWIN app booking is of no use as techies in Bangalore have written smart bots , which books at a rate of 1000 attempts per second kind of frequency ( subsequently Govt stopped the real time API public access and put a 30 minutes delay for API access ) .

So everywhere it’s walk-in allowed . So one has to go easily , stand in a. queue. like a SBI branch and wait for ur token number to be called .

Such Life skills of gaming a system – the learning started in years of hostel life in PUC times + carried over to BTech Hostel. ( how to break all the rules and not get caught )

And that’s why I had Kannada speaking as one of my goals in lockdown .

My wife was super impressed the way I spoke to the staff in local language – Kannada.

Other goals are

1- PhD in Bartan-Jhadoo-Pochha work – completed in lockdown 1

2 – Michelin single star chef 👩‍🍳- WIP – target completion by wave 2 lockdown
