  • Always be polite to all.
  • - Try to use neutral language. Never use the singular in Indian languages to address people
  • - Do not show curiosity about people’s personal lives. Let them share as much as they want.
  • - Share little about your personal life
  • - Do not reveal your opinions on politics, religion, feminism, LGBTQ issues
  • - Keep socializing to the bare minimum, only as much as is required to have a smooth working relationship
  • - Try to keep team outings to a bare minimum
  • - Limit shared meals to lunch. Avoid dinners.
  • - Avoid liquor consumption with colleagues
  • - On trips, engage in sight seeing only to public places. Do not go clubbing.

Remember, you only need to work with those people. You don’t have to like them. Your company employs you

Your company is not your family. It will not back you up when you get into trouble on harassment cases. Your colleagues are not family. They are people whom you work with, that’s all.

Laws help weaponize people’s insecurities and neuroses. You want to keep away from that.
